The Future of Manufacturing

Additive manufacturing is a novel group of technologies that allows efficient production of components with complex geometry and functionality.

Many industries have adopted the technologies and experienced significant benefits such as enhanced functionality, lower weight, lower cost, and reduced delivery lead time.

While additive manufacturing earlier was most relevant for polymers, metallic parts can also be produced.

Report contents:

Requirements and Test Plan

What to do?

The report contains a set of requirements of the bachelor itself, and how to ensure thorough verification, in addition to requirements for the case studies.

Project management

How to do it?

The report contains details of our process of planning, delegation, project modeling, advancements, tackling problems, project tools and a risk analysis for the bachelor.

Trade-off Analyses

Which to choose?

The report contains several trade-off analyses which compare different methods and components to each other, to find optimal solutions.

Case Studies

Is additive the key?

The report contains several case studies to find whether the components are able to be produced in a more efficient way or less wasteful manner than traditional manufacturing.

Cost Analysis

Is additive worth it?

The report contains a cost analysis, turning methods of manufacturing into formulas and calculations giving insight to costs and potential gain.
