Optical Character Recognition (OCR): it can be hard to manually enter tags for in-field operators (as they sometimes use gloves). Using the mobile camera is a more intuitive way to look up tags.
Real-time position system: it can be helpful for in-field operators to know where they are relative to physical tags. Tag Explorer has a built-in user position and tag position feature.
OpenID Connect: operators can use their existing, corporate login credentials to securely access documents through Tag Explorer.

Compared to KDI's existing Kognitwin Energy application, Tag Explorer is measured 28% faster on mobile devices. It also adds new operator-oriented features, such as OCR tag scanning and real-time user positioning. But, Tag Explorer is not a direct competitor to Kognitwin Energy, instead it complements it in KDI's software suite.
Methodologies
Scrum
We chose Scrum as our project management framework; with weekly sprints and a close dialogue with our project owner. Kongsberg Digital also uses Scrum internally, and we were lucky enough that one of our supervisors is a real Scrum Master at Kongsberg Digital.
Risk Management
We've had very strong cross-group risk management collaboration with group 11. Additionally, Sorn's mentor Lars Gunnar Tennebø (Risk and Warranty Manager at TechnipFMC) has given us further risk management guidance.
