Project Smart Power - D04-2021

Our Group

Borgny Louise I am Borgny Louise, and I am 21 years old. Soon I am completing my bachelor’s in computer engineering degree. For the time being I am living in Asker, but I am moving to Kongsberg during the summer break. To the fall, I am taking an industrial master’s degree at USN campus Kongsberg.

In this bachelor assignments, I was the team leader responsible to make sure everyone was doing what they were supposed to do, as well as I contributed with designing the user interface and it’s functionalities and making sure our microcontroller were able to communicate with the systems server.
Sondre My name is Sondre Sivertsen Tverå, and I am studying to become an electrical engineer. I originally come from Mosjøen, and I moved down to Kongsberg in 2018 to start studying here at USN. I have always been interested in technology and smart solutions, and now after 3 years of engineering, I want to work with development of smart systems after graduating.

In my free time I like to play instruments and video games, as well watching movies and hanging out with friends.

Throughout the project, I have worked with the hardware part and have mainly worked with the power switches for the system. In addition, I have also been responsible for working with the requirements documentation for the project, which addresses all changes to the requirements specification that belong to the task.
Lars My name is Lars Kittil Rudshaug, and I am in my last year of becoming an electrical engineer. I am 22 years old from Nord-Odal, Innlandet. I came to Kongsberg in 2018 when I was accepted into the bachelor’s program. For as long as I remember, I have been interested in technology and electronics, and knew already from middle school that I wanted to become an electrical engineer. When I graduate I hope to be accepted into a robotics/cybernetics master’s degree course.

In my free time I like to hang out with friends, and play video games.

As the hardware manager of this project, I have primarily worked on the electrical aspect of the project. I have been responsible for keeping track of, and making sure that everything regarding the the hardware system is working as it should and is accounted for.
Georgios My name is Georgios Giannopoulos, and I am a third year electronics engineering student. I was born in Greece and came to Norway in 2013 to take a master in Globalisation – Global Politics and Culture at NTNU, Trondheim after taking a bachelor’s degree in political science and History in Athens, Greece.

I have always been interested in technology and electronics, and this interest became stronger while I was working in the food industry in Trondheim where there was plenty of electronics, sensors, and robots around. I have always been curious about how things work, and that was the reason I chose to move to Kongsberg in 2018 to begin studying to become an electronics engineer. After the bachelor, I will take industry master in micro- and nanotechnology because I want to expand my knowledge on electronic components, especially on the micro- and nano scale while at the same time acquiring valuable relevant working experience as an electronics engineer.

In my free time I like to listen to music, exercise, play and watch football, watch films and Youtube videos, play videogames and hanging out with friends.

Throughout the project, I have worked with the sensors of the system as well as wiring of the prototype and code in Arduino in order to send correct measurements from Arduino to the database. In addition, I had the roles of finance manager and hardware test manager. As a finance manager, I had the responsibility for ordering components and having overview over the budget and as a hardware test manager, I had the responsibility for testing the hardware part of the system and documenting the test process and results.
Aaron My name is Aaron and I am on my third year of bachelor’s in computer science. I was born in Bhutan but lived in Nepal my entire childhood to teenage before I moved to Norway. I came to Norway in mid of 2009 along with my family and currently living in Skien.

I worked as a carpenter before I started pursuing higher education. Since I didn’t have math, physics, and Norwegian from high school I had to take a preparatory course for a whole year. After I finished the course I applied for commuter science because I always find fascinating and wanted to know how the computer works.

In my off time I mostly enjoy playing guitar, workout, fishing, watch videos and so on.

Throughout the project, I have worked with some part of the user interface, like backup battery status, making secure login system, and automatic logout when users are inactive for a certain amount time. In addition, I had a role as risk manager. As a risk manager my responsibility was to make sure that I documented all the risks that are found both in hardware and software. It is also crucial to have a good communication with every group member and collect all the risks that are associated with the project.
Ahmed My name is Ahmed and I am 23 years old. I am now on my third year of the bachelor’s in computer engineering. Originally, I am from Somalia, but I have lived most of my life in Norway specially in Molde. I moved to Kongsberg for university, and I have been living here ever since I started my bachelor's degree.

Ever since I can remember, I have always been interested in technology. I can remember from my early years in Somalia, we used to make toy cars from batteries and few cardboards and that interest in technology has increased ever since.

I am also a huge football fan, so in my spare I like that watch football with friends or play football.

As the software test manager of this project, I have worked with implementing all the tests related to the software part of this project. I have also worked with the microcontrollers and communicating with the server.
